C1 Advanced Use of English Practice Tests

These free C1 Advanced Use of English tests are designed for advanced (Cambridge C1 Advanced / CAE) learners. Each test contains 15 questions in either multiple-choice cloze or open-cloze (text with gaps) format — the same task types used in Cambridge English exams.

The exercises focus on complex grammar, inversions, cleft sentences, advanced phrasal verbs, and nuanced word choice. After submitting your answers you will see your score, detailed explanations for every question, and links to the relevant C1 Advanced grammar lessons so you can review the rules behind each answer.
