Terms of Use

Last updated: February 2026

Please read this before using the site. It's not long and we've written it in plain language so you don't need a lawyer to understand it. If something isn't clear, feel free to get in touch.

1. What this site is

ESL-Tests.com is an English language learning site. We publish quizzes, grammar and vocabulary tests, listening exercises, and articles aimed at ESL learners at different levels. The whole point of the site is to give people a useful place to practice - that's it. We're not a school, we don't issue certificates, and we don't track your progress on your behalf.

2. Using the site

You're welcome to use ESL-Tests.com for your own learning, as much as you like, for free. That means taking tests, reading articles, and using the site to practice your English. What you can't do is take our content and republish it, sell it, or pass it off as your own - whether that's the questions, audio files, answer explanations, or anything else we've produced. If you want to use our content in a classroom, a course, or any other setting beyond personal study, reach out first and ask.

3. Things we'd ask you not to do

Most of this is common sense, but to be explicit: don't scrape or bulk-download the site, don't try to interfere with how it runs, and don't use it to send spam or do anything abusive. If you have an account, keep your login details to yourself - you're responsible for anything that happens under your account.

4. Results and outcomes

We put real effort into making the content accurate and useful, but we can't promise that practicing here will get you a specific exam score or outcome. How much you improve depends on a lot of factors beyond what any website can control. Use the site as part of your preparation, not as a substitute for proper study or professional guidance where that's relevant. For more on this, see our Disclaimer.

5. Third-party links and ads

The site displays ads served by third-party ad networks, and some of our articles may link out to other websites. We don't control what those third parties do, what they show, or how their sites behave. If you click an external link or interact with an ad, that's between you and them - we're not responsible for it.

6. The site as-is

We keep the site running as reliably as we can, but things break sometimes - a quiz might not load, an audio file might not play, a page might go down. We'll fix issues when we find them or when people report them, but we can't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free. Use it as it is. If something's broken, let us know and we'll look into it.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, ESL-Tests.com isn't liable for any losses or damages that arise from using the site - whether that's from errors in content, downtime, or anything else. This is a free educational resource and should be treated as such.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time if the site changes or if we need to clarify something. When we do, the updated version will replace this one on this page. If you keep using the site after changes are posted, that means you're okay with them. We won't make changes that are designed to catch you out - if anything significant changes, we'll make it obvious.

9. Questions

If you have a question about any of this, just contact us. We're a small team and we read every message.

By using ESL-Tests.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
